PIA is looking for a Box Office Coordinator
The Pride in Art Society (PiA) produces, presents and exhibits with a curatorial vision favouring challenging, thought-provoking multidisciplinary work that pushes boundaries and initiates dialogue, through the Queer Arts Festival and SUM Gallery, one of the only permanent spaces dedicated to the presentation of queer art worldwide. PiA brings diverse communities together to support artistic risk-taking, incite creative collaboration and experimentation, and celebrate the rich heritage of queer artists and art.
BOX OFFICE COORDINATOR:
We are currently searching for a Box Office and Registration Coordinator to work with us until March 2020. The Box Office and Registration Coordinator provides assistance and coordination in the area of registration. The Box Office and Registration Coordinator works cooperatively with the team to ensure that the box office, accreditation, and ticketing processes events and conferences are conducted in an efficient, effective, convenient and secure manner.
The Box Office and Registration Coordinator is someone who has a passion for the arts, awareness of the queer community, and has cash handling and people management skills. This is a position offering work experience and opportunities for growth.

1. Box Office Management
● Coordinating online and box-office ticket sales and record keeping;
● Keeping excellent records, and completing all required reports timely basis;
● Communicating information regarding box office policies and procedures;
● Ensuring a welcoming and inclusive space for artists, volunteers, and attendees. 2. Administration:
● Maintaining documents and records systems;
● Providing research, data and reports;
● Ensuring cash security and accuracy;
● Maintaining expected confidentiality and trust.
3. People Management
● Registering participants in events;
● Communicating with artists and partners;
● Ensuring effective communication with staff team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Interest in working with artists and the general public;
- Strong connection to and awareness of the arts and queer communities;
- Accounting, Bookkeeping or Financial Management assistance is an asset;
- Experience (volunteer or paid) in a non-profit setting.
Competencies (demonstrated experience with):
- Financial Management, accounting and bookkeeping skills;
- Good communication and relationship building skills;
- Commitment, independence, initiative, and assertiveness skills.
Eligibility: *Candidates will have established a claim for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, or have had an EI benefit period that ended within the previous 60 months; or have earned more than $2,000 in insurable earnings and paid employee EI premiums on those earnings in at least 5 of the last 10 years, and be eligible for an Action Plan (AP) that identifies JCP to support their occupational goal.
